These are issues that face me and my people, it is sad that these issues have plagued the Native American population to the extent that it has.

Young people find the solution of moving away from solving their pain of abandonment and broken families through a history of ill planned government programs by taking their lives.

I will visit your site and read more about your works, i like what i have read so far.

Thank you for read my article and leaving your comment. I am sorry that you felt I was defending a murder that killed four members of his family. As a social worker who has treated some very difficult cases I am writing so we can understand what happens in a person's background that can cause this kind of action in some people. I am a firm believer that you can't treat what you don't understand! This is the purpose of my writings!

My mom and dad split up when I was young, but I don't recall it. Dad was a full blown drinker. He stopped coming to see me at about age 7 - 8 I think. He was drinking around me up to that point. I recalled fighting with mom over wanting to see him. I asking him why he stopped coming and did he stop loving me? Wasn't I good enough? I'm 45 now and I've never felt with this. Dad sobered up after I turned 18 and we have put a friendship together. Mom died last year and I'm going in and out of depression. I would like to learn to heal, forgive, and love. I'm a father now and don't want to pass this on but it's hard for me to get close to anyone and I mean anyone! I only let people in a little.

C'mon please...someone kills someone else and it's the other persons fault..you should have just said when a murderer kills it's the victims fault...might as well..cause it's all leading to that...by my opinion if a person kills (and I do not include when someone kills in self defense or something like that) he loses all human right and should be locked up and never let out..a persons life is a holly thing..and when someone takes the liberty to end one..he should be punished by locking him or her and never letting them out...plain and simple..
