So who teaches the responsibilities of being a parent? Where do they learn when our society is so paranoid about sex being discussed in public. I was brought up in a dysfunctional household with alcoholism and Catholicism being guiding factors in the lives of eight children. We all have some sort of dysfunction in our lives and do the best we can. Seems I hear a lot about the problems, but little on solutions. We have a sick society and there is no end in sight w/o any corrective activity.

Abandonment is one of the core problems in our society. Starting with family ending with aged parents.. Kudos to the author for dedicating himself to such valuable topics. I'm planning to get my hands on this and recommend to our local library.. i've read some good reviews at Amazon and they all sound positive. Nice work Mr John..

I am frantic that I am alienating my grown children. I am pushing them away because I am so afraid of being abandoned by them because of my childhood/abandonment and abandonment/divorce issues.
